L’Aki Ten est une exposition d’un nouveau genre alliant bonsaï et céramique qui se tiendra à Bressanone/Brixen, en Italie, les 4 et 5 novembre prochains. Le Bonsai Club de Brixen, en partenariat avec l’artiste italien du bonsaï Othmar Auer et des potiers du Sud Tyrol, d’Europe et du Japon, souhaite pérenniser une biennale durant laquelle chacun pourra apprendre sur l’art du bonsaï et sa philosophie, mais aussi sur les techniques du bonsaï et l’horticulture.
Imai Chiharu sera l’invité d’honneur de cette première. Il fera des démonstrations et participera aux tables rondes sur le thème du bonsaï et de la céramique. Un concours de céramique pour bonsaï est ouvert à tous, potiers professionnels ou amateurs. Chaque participant peut proposer une céramique. Celle-ci devra présenter toutes les caractéristiques pour accueillir un bonsaï ou une plante d’accent. Le jury sera constitué d’experts qui sont à la fois des artistes et des experts techniques. Lors du jugement des pièces, l’aspect technique sera observé, mais une attention toute particulière sera portée au caractère unique de la poterie. Le lauréat emportera une somme de 1 000 €, le deuxième 300 € et le troisième 200 €. La participation au concours s’accompagne d’un droit d’entrée de 50 €.

The Aki Ten is a new kind of exhibition that combines bonsai and pottery and will be held in Bressanone/Brixen in Northern Italy on 4–5 November. The Brixen bonsai club will partner Italian bonsai artist Othmar Auer and and potters from South Tyrol (Alto Adige), Europe and Japan, who hope to establish a long-term biennial event in which the art and philosophy of bonsai is studied as well as its techniques and cultivation.
Imai Chiharu will be the guest of honour for this first event. He will give demonstrations and will take part in round-table discussions on bonsai topics and ceramics.
A pottery competition will be open to everyone both professional and amateur ceramists. Each contestant will enter one ceramic piece. This must have all the characteristics necessary to hold a bonsai tree or an accent plant. The jury will be made up of artists and technical experts. Technique is taken into consideration, but particular attention will be paid to the unique features of each piece shown. The winner will carry away a prize of €1000; second-place winner will receive €300, and third-place winner, €200. Competition entry cost is €50.
